This website is a publishing place for youth involved in summer writing camps hosted by local Writing Project sites. You must be a participant in one of these camps to publish at this website. After you register, a website administrator will need to approve your account before you can publish and comment on others’ work. Register Now
Create a Post
After you register and your account is approved by an admin, you can create and publish posts and comments. To access the publishing dashboard, log in, hover over “Summer Writing Camps” in the upper left corner, and click on “Dashboard.” Then go to “Posts” in the left column and click the “Add New” button at the top.
Note: You can only edit your own posts and comments.
Add Media to a Post
To embed media—like a YouTube video or Soundcloud file—click on the “Text” tab to edit the content and simply paste the link to the item on a line by itself. (Don’t forget to save/click “Update”.)
Shorten a Post on the Homepage
By default, an entire post is added to the homepage. If you’d just like the first part of your post to show and then have a “Continue reading” link created to take the reader to the full post, simply place your cursor where you want the break to appear and click the “Insert More Tag” icon in the editor:
Or in the “Text” view, add the “more” snippet wherever you want the break to appear:
Group My Piece(s) with Others at My Location
When creating a post, in the right column under “Categories”, select the name of your location. Once you publish your piece, it will show up with others in the category/location you selected.
