“Darlene” by Savannah

March 8th I lost someone who meant so much to me.

I wish I had more time to go and say my last goodbye, but I’m still gonna make you proud Grandma.

Hope you’re smiling down from heaven.
Every day I miss you more, I miss your smile, I miss your laugh.

You were always there for me when no one ever was.
I wish I could see you one last time. In fact, if I had one wish that could come true, I’d ask to spend the day with you and pray it would last.
Why’d you have to leave so soon? Everything is so different, the hardest part was burying you.

I wish you lasted an eternity, but I’ll keep you in my thoughts until the very end.

  1. This is beautifully written and I can feel your emotion. I have lost both of my grandfathers before I even really got to know them. I was hoping to get more of a vision of your grandma, but I can still feel her in this piece.
